In case you didn't hear it was announced earlier today that next year a new series starring the Muppets will premiere on the Disney+ streaming service, and.................. I have doubts.
Instead of being a variety show or a mockumentary like the ABC series, this show under the odd name “Muppets Live Another Day“ is set to take place immediately after 1984's The Muppets Take Manhattan where for some reason Kermit breaks up the Muppets(AGAIN) but now has to get them back AGAIN to help find there missing friend Rowlf the Dog. WHAT?!?! And it'll have Josh Gad developing the series and starring as one of the leads.
This is 11 herbs and spices of confusing. Why would Rowlf go missing, why would Kermit break off the group? And WHY Josh Gad?
I feel like Disney is slowly losing the point of the Muppets and is just retreading old stuff so what else is new, also its odd that they're basing this series off the one Muppet movie Disney doesn't own the rights to and is arguably one of the more weaker films, so why have this be the catalyst for a new series starring these beloved characters? But on the bright side, the movie did give us the Muppet Babies so leave as that as you will.
Honestly I'm doubtful of this announcement maybe it'll be good maybe it won't who knows we'll just have to wait next year to find out.
